Why Use a Password Generator?

  • Random passwords are much harder to crack than human-chosen ones
  • Eliminates common patterns: birthdays, names, 12345
  • Our generator uses cryptographic randomness (window.crypto API)
  • 100% runs in your browser — passwords never reach our servers
  • Use a password manager (Bitwarden, 1Password) to store generated passwords

Password Security Tips

  • Use minimum 12 characters — longer is always better
  • Use a different password for every account
  • Enable 2FA (two-factor authentication) everywhere
  • Never share passwords via SMS, email, or WhatsApp
  • Change passwords immediately if a site gets hacked
  • Passphrases (4+ words) are both strong and memorable

FAQ

Are generated passwords safe?
Yes. Our generator uses window.crypto.getRandomValues() — the same cryptographic randomness used by browsers for security. Passwords are generated and displayed only in your browser and never transmitted to any server.
What makes a password strong?
A strong password has: 12+ characters, mix of uppercase + lowercase + numbers + symbols, no dictionary words, and no personal information. A 16-character random password would take billions of years to crack by brute force.
What is a passphrase?
A passphrase is 4–6 random words combined (e.g., “correct-horse-battery-staple”). It is easy to remember but extremely secure — a 4-word passphrase has more entropy than a random 8-character password. Use passphrases for master passwords.
